Exhibition: Group Chemistry 2018 – Friends of Photography Group

Brunswick Street Gallery, Fitzroy. 7 – 23 September 2018

Group Chemistry 2018 is the second exhibition of the Melbourne-based Friends of Photography Group. It invites the viewer to see the photographs through two different contexts of chemistry: the scientific magic of the darkroom, and the harder-to-see chemistry of a group sharing knowledge, building community and encouraging creativity through film photography.

Photographs by: Shane Booth, Andrew Bradsworth, Wendy Currie, Len Currie, Peter de Graaff, Mat Hughes, Ronald Jore, Peter McDonald, Keith Mallett, Mark Killmer, Marc Morel, Brian Murray, Ian Raabe, John de la Roche, Aileen Santos, Christine Scott-Young, Lloyd Shield.

Silver gelatin, chromogenic, dye diffusion transfer, carbon and cyanotype prints from 8×10, 5×7, 4×5 and roll film negatives.

Main photograph: Bridge to the Light. 2017. 40 x 40 cm silver gelatin photograph. John de la Roche.
