Exhibition: Thru The Lens – My Place, My People
Artists: James Hughes, John Bodin, John Christie, Kate Baker, Khoi Bui, Ryan Tews
Photographers look at the world with a particular “eye”, capturing what is there in plain sight, but which many of us fail to actually see. Photography as an art form is able to capture a moment, convey a sensation or a mood, tell a story.
The photographers in this exhibition present us with their own interpretations of “My Place, My People”. Each work is beautifully balanced, rich in compositional detail, depth and mystery. Some images are almost abstract in nature, but leave the viewer with the sense that there is more…. just out of reach.
Our photographic artists tell us of the satisfaction they feel in capturing the depth of an emotion, or describing a fleeting moment in time, in turn referencing the viewers own experiences. Their continued experimentation with both the technique of photography, and their own personal vision presents us with a unique glimpse into their inner life. From YAVA website.

Kate,
this looks to be a fascinating exhibition.
I found the artist links to be very useful as it enabled me to see their work. So thank you for that. It was great to come across Jon Bodin’s seascapes (https://manyunggallery.com.au/artist/1595-john-bodin)
Thanks Gary, much appreciated! I will pass on your comments to John too, Kate
