Exhibition: Land – Ray Finneran

Land an exhibition of photographs made in country NSW, several images are of trees and rock boulders in the natural beauty of the landscape. Other images show how man has built shelter and survived on the land.

Rather than document what’s in front of the camera I endeavour to make pictures that ask questions rather than provide all the answers, leaving some of the story to be completed by the viewer. My approach is more fine art with the application of creativity and presentation.

The photographs have been toned or Lith printed, adding subtle colour or the classic Lith look of hard shadows and delicate highlights.

The photographs for this exhibition were taken on a medium format camera using Kodak T-Max 400 film. The toned prints were printed on Ilford Classic fibre paper and the Lith prints on Sterling Premium F Lith paper.

The gallery is a dedicated space at my home, for sharing my work with like minded folk who enjoy and appreciate the depth and quality of a hand crafted silver gelatin print.
